Learn how to use eLxsyr

Quick Guide: What ZIP Export Means

When you publish a course in Articulate Rise or Storyline, you get a ZIP file. This file contains all the HTML, JavaScript, and media needed to run the course in a browser or LMS.

eLxsyr takes this ZIP and adds an AI chatbot to it. The bot appears as a floating widget that learners can click to ask questions during the course.

How to export from Articulate Rise:

  1. Open your course in Rise
  2. Click Export in the top right
  3. Choose "Web" or "LMS" format
  4. Download the ZIP file

How to export from Articulate Storyline:

  1. Open your project in Storyline
  2. Click Publish
  3. Choose "Web" or your LMS format
  4. Publish and locate the ZIP file

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about eLxsyr

Do I need the .story file?

No. eLxsyr works with the published ZIP export. You do not need access to the original Storyline or Rise source files.

What do I get back?

A new ZIP file that includes your original course content plus the embedded chatbot. This ZIP is ready to upload directly to your LMS.

Does it work offline?

Yes. If you choose Offline Keyword mode, the bot works without internet access. It uses keyword matching for quick lookups.

What documents are supported?

You can upload PDF and DOCX files as knowledge base content. These docs help the bot answer learner questions accurately.

What is the max file size?

The maximum course ZIP file size is 100MB. Most Rise and Storyline exports fit within this limit.

Tips for Better Bot Responses

Write a clear Setup Prompt

Be specific about the bot's role, tone, and boundaries. For example: "You are a compliance training assistant. Answer questions about company policies in a professional tone. Do not reveal quiz answers."

Upload relevant knowledge docs

Include SOPs, job aids, and policy documents that relate to your course. The bot uses these to provide accurate answers.

Use guardrails

Enable "Do not answer quiz questions directly" to prevent the bot from giving away test answers. Enable "Answer only from uploaded documents" to keep responses on topic.

Test before deploying

Open your processed ZIP locally and try chatting with the bot. Adjust your setup prompt if the responses are not quite right.
